If you're the sort of person that came to university thinking; 'I wanna do everything there is to'; then the Management degree allows this freedom.
I was the sort of person who thought like this, but didn't have the conviction to actually do it. I joined very few societies, and rarely applied myself outside of the minimum needed to pass the course. Management studies only require a 35% pass rate in the first year, and because it does not count towards your final degree there is no incentive to push yourself. Having said this, if you apply yourself, join loads of societies, and use the facilities that the uni offers, you will have a fulfilling first year. I did not do this. I realised very late on in the year that there is plenty to do if you go looking for it. With no lectures or seminars in the summer term you have the freedom to do anything - take the opportunity. Use the fantastic facilities available, never again will so much be available to you in such a small space.
Academically you will not be pushed to any great extent in the first year – push yourself to push yourself, and get the most out of your first year. Laziness is a difficult habit to break once you're in the cycle.
