Floating on air, as high as a kite.
Soaring through the clouds,
Without a care in the world.
I come across a small village,
A perfect embodiment of human happiness
In the centre,
A scene so unimaginably beautiful
My breath is swept gently away,
Like small pebbles on a beach.
The scene is set
Shielded by high rocks,
Among gleaming azure pools,
Just the two of us,
Young lovers not of this world
But of each other.
Time is senseless,
It does not and can not exist,
Not in this dream like place.
I look to the sky,
A night so clear and yet so full
Of the sparkle of the ageless stars.
Watchers of this longing,
Watchers of the joining
Of our two hearts into one.
Looking back into your eyes
I see the world of the stars
Yet infinitely deeper
The beauty of the soul,
An unfathomable world.
Suddenly, shocking sadness
As the perfect azure pools dry
Forming a desert of despair
Born from your unknowable soul.
I get swept away,
In a furious sandstorm
Out of my control.
Delivering the harsh reality
Of life, of love,
That moments like the
Life of a Cherry Blossom
Can never last forever.
